| What is Speech recognition Technology | | speech recognition (in many contexts also known as 'automatic speech recognition', computer speech recognition or erroneously as Voice Recognition) is the process of converting a speech signal to a sequence of words, by means of an algorithm implemented as a computer program. speech recognition applications that have emerged over the last few years include voice dialing (e.g., Call home), call routing (e.g., I would like to make a collect call), simple data entry (e.g., entering a credit card number), preparation of structured documents (e.g., a radiology report), and content-based spoken audio search (e.g. find a podcast where particular words were spoken).Voice recognition or speaker recognition is a related process that attempts to identify the person speaking, as opposed to what is being said. | |

| Have you ever tried using a speech recognition program? | | I am typing this discussion without touching the keyboard,by speaking into a microphone . I'm not going to make any corrections so you can see just exactly how well this program is doing . If you would like more information on that I can give you a way to worry it can be downloaded . now I see one problem there already but it's doing fairly well. it is called E.-speaking and it is a shareware program that you can download for free . But we know what to think . OK, now I am using the keyboard. I can see some mistakes above but they are things that could be corrected easily. | |

| Ever tried using Speech Recognition Software? | | I recently discovered I had speech recogniton/ voice recognition software on my computer. I was going to purchase it because I was curious, but then it dawned on me to go down to my start menu and type in speech recognition -- and low & behold! there it was. I've been practicing with it and it seems to work fairly well. It says the more you work with it the better your computer will be trained to understand you. I still don't have it down easy enough to replace my 2-finger typing LOL... but if I do it would be a huge convenience just to sit back and talk to my computer and let it type and open programs for me. What about you, have you ever tried speech recognition on your computer? | |
