When I was a kid, we had three major networks and cable was a baby.but.......my kids could use a mouse when they were 2. My son is into creating reports and presentations on our computer and I am totally amazed! My daughter is big into Webkinz and consequently they fight over computer time (that's why I'm usually on here late at night)How about your kids? Are they little "techies"? Or are they just not interested?

I determined to know about computer 8 years ago so that my kids will not be better than me. Kids who are good in computer is good in making assignments and research in school. | | Banned from the computer | | Our Youngest daughter is very social She likes to go on to MySpace and Giai and just hang out and chat with her friends. We told her it was all right as long as she only chatted with people that she know (and we knew). She has been really good for the last six months but on Friday I found her chatting with some one who I did not recognize. I asked her who she was chatting with and she just said "some guy" I asked again who the person was and she just responded back "it is some guy from Minnesota" I looked at her and said "Are you supposed to be chatting with people that you do not know. She answered "No". So I asked how long she had been chatting with the person and she said "for a couple of weeks". I asked why and she said "Because he asked me to chat with him". This just threw out the red flag made me and my wife blow up. She got kicked off the computer and is now banned from using any social sites and I have installed parental control on the kids computer. We explained to her that we had that rule because there are just to many perverts out their and they use social site like she was on tho lure the children to them. We had explained this to her before on more then one... | |

| defrag | | my windows defrag program on my kids computer crashes/stalls every time i go to defrag it . i started up in safe mode and it allowed me to defrag but then in normal mode when i tried again the same thing happenned. the operating system is 98 first version, is this a common problem or have the kids deleted a neccesary file. social sites and I have installed parental control on the kids computer. We explained to her that we had that rule because there are just to many perverts out their and they use social site like she was on tho lure the children to them. We had explained this to her before on more then one occasion. We have a friend who lets their daughter do what ever she wants on the computer and she has gotten into so much trouble by doing so. She has even run away and was found with some old man who said he was just trying to help her. We do not want our children to be a statistic in this world. We want them to remain Innocent and free to express themselves. But we also want to protect them and keep them form getting in trouble.Are we being to extreme and cautious? | | How soon would you tell your boss that you may have to quit your job? | | About a month and a half ago I was hired by a lady who was just starting off a business teaching kids computer classes in day cares (3 & 4 year olds). I was suppose to start working the first week in September, but Hurricane Gustav came through and postponed everything by a week. She told me that things would be slow to start, but would pick up quickly. When she hired me I told her I had to make at least $600/month and she said that wasn't a problem. She said that in a month I should have 100-125 kids to teach a week, so I would be making 300-400/week + mileage. Not bad for only working 20-30 hours a week. Plus this job has a lot of perks, I can put my son on the bus in the morning, get him off in the afternoons and I am off on the days he has off of school. Well next week is week #3 that I am teaching, so far I only have 12 kids (at 3 different day cares to teach). I get paid per kid and get mileage (which isn't a big deal since all of the daycare are less than 2 miles from my home). As you can see this is way off the mark from what she originally said I would be making. I have tried to help her by doing some marketing to daycares she has not spoken with yet.Friday my... | |

| Anyone know how to connect 2 computer with a Rouch Router? | | I have a friend who is having a problem getting her second computer to work.She has ATT internet provider and they are telling her she needs to purchase their router for $100! OUTRAGEOUS!!She has a router, it's a Rouch Router, so if you can provide any help, it would be so very much appreciated.She said her compuer works, but the second one will not connect (it's the kids computer). I tried to search the internet, but I didn't get much help.Thanks for any and all help

| | Scrapbooking? | | Does anyone here scrapbook? I DO!!! And I need some help! I havent scrapped in almost a yr....YIKES! Last JUly we were getting ready to buy our home. Everything was packed up!!! We waited and waited and finally the end of October came and we were ready to move in! WELL I HAVE BEEN SOOOOO BUSY since then, with work, cleaning, kids, computer ect...I just dont have the time to scrap. ANd I really want to scrap but dont feel like I have the want to, u know? LOL. I am missing alot of moments....and forgetting about the pictures I have taken, I havent even been taking that many pictures. BAD MOM! Can anyone help me get back into the groove? ANy ideas anybody?
