What do you guys think about these new gaming computers?
Hi guys, I have been checking some gaming PC's lately and have been very surprised to see how much they evolved as I haven't really been paying attention these last years. high end gaming computers like Alienware or HP come with RAM memory up to 12GB and Graphics card of up to 2GB and Even processors of up to 3.2MHz which come with overclocking options. This may sound excessive but I suppose gaming enthusiasts will really enjoy computers like that. If only I had the money to buy one lol.
Which Graphics Card do You Prefer - ATI or NVIDIA GeForce?
There is an ongoing battle in the industry of Graphical Processing Unit (GPU). The top 2 among them are 'ATI Technologies Incorporated' and 'Nvidia GeForce'. Both are really great gadgets to work with. But there are already enough conspiracies regarding the features in both of these stuffs including brand name, model, performance issues, benchmarks and more. So its really a serious discussion for those who really want to go for high-end gaming. I prefer ATI, honestly. I have been using ATI for the last 3 years and it has never disappointed me so far. And I recommend it to you all. No blaming of other products. Just a suggestion. And by the way, which one do you prefer? What made you chose your gaming graphics product?[em]thumbup[/em]
what is the lifespan of your laptop?
hi all!most of us have laptops aside from desktop PCs. there are even some who forego the desktop PC and own just a laptop PC. and because of its popularity, more and more laptops pack so much power, portability and versatility. some laptops can even be as powerful as a spec'ed high-end gaming desktop PC!however, some laptops may have some weaknesses. some have short battery life. some are weak to drops or spills. and some simply just die out due to eventual age-related malfunction.in my case, i have a second-hand Acer TravelMate 2420 that i bought from my cousin last July 2008. if i remember it correctly, she bought it brand-new around mid-2007. so this means that my laptop is now more than 1.5 years old. thank goodness it's still working normally. however, signs of its age is showing. its battery only provides two hours of power without a plugged AC adapter. and it usually gets too hot, especially when i use it in my room if i turn off the airconditioner and just open the windows. but i think it will still last (especially with a brand-new battery and probably a memory upgrade) for three more years until it probably would conk out permanently.how about you guys?...
Dell xps m1530
Summary: I have had my M1530 for a few days now and it has been incredible. I got mine with Intel Core2 Duo 2.2Ghz Processor, 2GB RAM, 256MB NVIDIA Graphics and it has performed beautifully. It has had no trouble with any tasks I have thrown at it. The processors give ample room for both multimedia multitasking and gaming. So far it can easily handle all but the most advanced games (ie. Crysis...). One interesting and very useful feature of Vista that I have used on this machine is ReadyBoost. It allows you to allocate space on a flash drive or SD type card and use it as a RAM cache. I have added almost another whole GB of RAM using a SD card with this feaure, and the difference is noticable. I would recommend using this with and SD card, as it fits into the slot without protruding from the side, as a flash drive would. With all this power, any multimedia looks and sounds fantastic on this machine. The HD screen displays movies and videos extremely well. As far as music goes, it works very well. Using either Windows Media Center or Dell's Media Direct gives a great experience. There it no lag time between songs, pictures or anything else. The included remote (you get 2 by the...

Gaming Laptop or Low-end Laptop & Gaming Desktop?
So I have been wanting to build a gaming computer, and I recently totalled my laptop so I need to replace that. My question is, should I buy a high-end gaming laptop, or a low-end laptop for mobile stuff and build a high-end desktop for gaming? Either way it will be around the same price from my estimates. My limit is about $2300-$2500 I can build a gaming desktop for about $1500 or less, and buy a low-end laptop for $500-$800. So thats right at my limit. I can buy a gaming laptop that is good enough for the games I want to play for about $1900-$2500. So again, about where my limit is. I really only used my old laptop for surfing, programming, etc. Nothing that needs gaming hardware. I want somthing to game on, though, and getting a gaming laptop would be awesome, and nice for mobile gaming for LAN Parties and such, but the hardware wouldn't be as good as a gaming desktop. I just don't know what to do, so I'm asking for help. Which would be better to do?
