| Need recommendations for an external hard drive... | | I am looking to buy an external hard drive. I want close to 700GB size. It is for putting movies on and pictures so we can view them on the tv screen instread of huddled around the small PC screen. So.. if you have one... share your brand and why you like it and why you think it is the best.Anyone have a Western Digital? What do you think about it?Also, is there something else I need to be cautious of having for it to accomodate my PC? I have Windows XP. | My hard drive was attacked by ants. Need some help to recover my files. | | A couple of months ago my hard drive was attacked by ants and it crashed. I was wondering if there was a way I could recover some of the data I have in that hard drive. A lot of my photos was in that hard drive and I really want to recover them. Do you have any tips or software that could maybe partially recover some of the files. I tried running the drive and I hear some small clicks when I use the drive. | How do I prevent my Hard Drive from getting Overheated...? | | I have noticed the over heating of my HDD since i have installed a Software called (HDD temperature) which monitors the real temperature of the HDD and even warn me about it.so the usual Temperature goes above normal 45C according to the software showing the red sign,i also feel the speed of PC gets slow while i use PC for more then 30 minutes approx,and the location of CPU is good for ventilation.....my question is how can i prevent over heating since i am using my pc cautiously by using just necessary applications at a time plus minimum Browser tabs while using Internet...! | |
| | Can Pendrive be easily effected by virus in compare of USB hard drive?? | | hey friend .... Mostly all users uses pen drive for exchanging data with friends. So it is common that we got our pen-drive infected by virus. But is it true that usb hard disk has less chances for effected by virus. I don't know but some of my friend told me that pendrive means flash drive has more chances for getting virus in compare of usb hard disk.. I have usb hard disk and till now it never affected by virus.. so i am thinking that it is true... but still what you think about this?? | |

| | my Desktop system won't recognize the 1 TB internal hard drive | | I thought that I have confidence on my desktop system to be compatible with 1 TB internal hard drive. It turns out to be I am wrong. I bought an internal hard drive yesterday, and test it out on my system. It doesn't work, and it won't accept it. I test it again on my other desktop, it only shown 7 GB out of that 1 TB in another desktop. So, it is completely not compatible. I have to return it today. So, I just wonder, how can you know whether your system is compatible with bigger internal storage or not? | |
