Get the inside scoop on Social Networking now! | | | If you have a choice, would you rather not have a cellphone? | | We all know that cellphones are more of a necessity nowadays rather than a luxury. Most, if not all, are so dependent in this small gadget that they can't live without it. But if I had a choice and if I could live my life conveniently without a cellphone, I would prefer not to have it. One, because I had been subjected to four robbery incidents because of it. And here in my country, many have already lost their lives because of it (though many lives were also saved because of it). Two, I miss writing letters. What about you? Can't you live without a cellphone?
| | | Annoying bluetooth headset users!! | | Is there anything more annoying than people who wear their bluetooth headsets 24 hours a day? i mean even in the bathroom they have them on...i mean really get over yourself..no one is that important to have to talk, hands free much less, in the bathroom | |
| | What is your view on driving while talking on a cell-phone? | | First off, I would like to add clarification to the topic. I mean a standard cell-phone. Im not talking about using bluetooth headsets, or in-car bluetooth calling. I mean holding your cellphone up to your ear with one hand while trying to drive.I strongly feel that this should be against the law. Many accidents of many magnitudes are caused by driver-distraction. Most of these "driver distractions" are their cellphones. When talking on the cellphone, having only one hand on the wheel, I feel that drivers can not put their full focus on the road, and what is ahead of them. In emergency situations, the driver cannot react fast enough either.Personally, I have a big problem with this. Strathcona County is going to be putting a ban on talking on cellphones while driving, but only on some roads. Roads like provincial hi-ways will not have this ban put in place. Just the roads within the city I would assume. That is a good step. That means city council has to listen to the ever-growing call of the people and their demands. I really hope it gets to be a provincial ban, then spreads to every other province in Canada. Is it so hard to let the person calling leave a voicemail?... | |
| | Nokia 5800 will compete with Apple IPhone. | | Today Nokia announced that they have produced a new model, Nokia 5800 which are almost similar in term of function and size with Apple Iphone. Armed with a roomy touch display, stereo speakers, and—eventually—a year's worth of free music, Nokia's long-awaited touchscreen phone (formerly known as "The Tube") will make its debut in London today. Can it compete with the iPhone and T-Mobile's Google-powered G1?First, let's cover the specs: Measuring 4.4 by 2 by 0.6 inches, the 3G- and Wi-Fi-enabled 5800 (set for global release by the end of the year, but not in North America until the "early part" of 2009) is more or less the same size as the iPhone 3G and the G1, although at 3.8 ounces, it's significantly lighter than both of its touchscreen competitors (the iPhone is about 4.8 ounces, while the G1 weighs in at a hefty 5.6 ounces).
So, how's the 5800's 3.2-inch touchscreeen? I haven't had a chance to try it in person, but the Symbian-powered display looks (from the press images, at least) reasonably sleek—somewhere between the clunkier interface on the G1 and the iPhone's eye-popping UI. No multitouch (so no "pinch"-type gestures), mind you, but the 5800 has an accelerometer that...
| | Brain tumors and cell phone usage | | Studies have shown that brain tumors are directly related to cell phone usage because of the "rays" emitted from cell phones, but what I want to know is are bluetooth headsets really any better? They must emit certain "rays" as well but are they of a different nature that is less harmful? Are bluetooth headsets worth your money??? | |

| | Motorola Miniblue H9 | | The Motorola Miniblue H9 may not be the worlds smallest bluetooth headset, but make no mistake, this thing is small. Manufactures have not just perfected making cell phones smaller, but now the miniturazation of bluetooth headsets. The H9 still retains the simple controls of a normal headset, a large multifuntion button on the headset face along with two volume controls on the other side.Production H9's should be hitting the stores pretty soon, and assuming that Motorola doesn't price this baby to high, this one could be a winner. | |
